QE Hospital - There, Gone and Today

I posted, in 2010, a series of photos taken weekly on the demolition of the old QE Hospital in KK. This was what it looked like on 1 August 2010. (THERE IT WAS).

The demolition was essentially completed by Week 16. This was the photo taken on 14 November 2010 of the end result. (THEN IT WAS GONE).

Here's a photo taken this morning of the almost completed New QE Hospital building. (HERE TODAY).

The new building looked modern and had a strange structure on the top of the right hand end (in this angle of the photo).

It looked almost like a little hut on top?

Inter Professional Bodies Games 2012 - Prize Presentation Ceremony

The Prize Presentation Ceremony for the Inter Professional Games 2012 was held last night (7 December 2012) at the Sabah Golf and Country Club (SGCC).

The participants came from the Engineers, Doctors, Lawyers, Surveyors, Architects, and Accountants. The usual plastic trophies were on display.

Good attendance from the organisers, professional bodies officials, and players. This 2012 edition of the IPB Games was organised by the Accountants (obviously all the professional bodies contributed volunteers and funds into the Organising Committee).

The final results was displayed. The Engineers were the overall winner (they have won the most times in the past). Their 4 First placings and 3 Second placings from the 9 events clinched them the title.

The usual buffet was well-supplemented ...

... by the roast lamb and ...

... the free flow of beer. I don't know about other places in Malaysia; but in Sabah the fantastic tolerance amongst the various races allowed this non-PC practice.

The prize presentation ceremonies were well received; as well as the karaoke sessions and the lucky draws (iPad2s and Galaxy Tabs).

There was also an impromptu performance of the Gangnam Style! The next IPB games will be in 2014 (its a bi-annual event) and will be organised by the Surveyors.
