This beetle flew in through the window on the night of 29 September. I hadn't seen this type of beetle for many many years. I have no idea what type it is; it may be a type of scarab beetle (any entomologist around?).
I read that about half the insect species comprised of beetles. This one did not look attractive or unusual, so did not turn up in my general search via Google. There are attractive beetles (eg ladybug, ), metallic ones (eg Green Fig Beetle), yucky ones (eg Dung Beetle), horny ones (eh Stag Beetle, Rhino Beetle), giant ones (Goliath Beetle).
